Virtues and Powers of Amen Thomspon
Explosive and creative. Thompson’s calling card is his combination of height, ball handling, creativity and impressive athleticism. He uses all of these in different aspects, be it to attack the rim, create spaces and take down for his open teammates and most of all, be a nightmare in transition.
Assistant base. Thompson is an extremely vertical and attacking player, with amazing ingenuity for assists and a sense of showmanship that makes him appear in best moments constantly. In Elite overtime he averaged 5.9 assists in the Regular season and 9.2 in the Playoffs. Because of his height, he is able to make passes that other point guards simply cannot.

Amen Thomspon’s Flaws and Weaknesses
The big weak point. Shooting is Thompson’s most glaring flaw. He shot 25% from three in 2022-2023 and just 68% from free throws. In only 4 of the 21 games he played in 2022-2023 did he make more than one three-pointer, and that was in a competition like Overtime Elite, with a completely open game and where he had the freedom to do whatever he wanted with the ball. , without fear of retaliation.

NBA comparison for Amen Thompson
