Zion Williamson’s recovery has taken longer than desired as the 21-year-old forward is unlikely to step onto the pitch this season.

Zion Williamson’s return schedule has been pushed back by several weeks. The 21-year-old New Orleans Pelicans forward was unable to play this year following his offseason surgery, which logically has hampered the team’s performance significantly.

Still, New Orleans is close to the NBA’s play-in tournament and therefore has some hopes of being there in the postseason.

In any case, the possibility of seeing Zion Williamson play this year seems impossible. According to Athletic, despite the significant progress he’s made lately, the fierce forward is unfit to play while, among other things, the organization’s people show no willingness to risk anything for this year.

With 11 games remaining until the regular season finale, New Orleans sits 9th in the West with 30 wins and 41 losses.
