NBA, Portland Trail Blazers: End of season for Damian Lillard
The Portland Trail Blazers have formalized what was more or less known: Damian Lillard’s season is over.
The December 31 game against the Los Angeles Lakers wasn’t just Damian Lillard’s worst this season. His last for 2021/22 proved to be much more as he has not returned since. And it is not, as has been officially announced.
On Monday night, March 21st, the Portland Trail Blazers reported what pretty much everyone knew. The 32-year-old point guard will not play again this year as there is no reason to force him back into action following his surgery.
The year is also lost for Chauncey Bilaps’ team, which is already looking to the offseason after targeting the Detroit Pistons’ Jeremy Grant.
This season (while he was able to play), Damian Lillard averaged 24 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists.
