Draymond Green burst out: ‘We play soft, silly and scared’
Flashing and thundering after the Warriors lost to the Magic, Draymond Green said Golden State was playing scared while describing the team’s behavior as soft.
Life without Steph Curry continues to prove difficult for the Warriors, who lost to the Magic in Orlando (94-90) and dropped 14 points in the fourth period. And that was something Dreymond Green didn’t like at all, which erupted after the argument at the press conference.
The dynamic forward didn’t chew on his words after the game and when asked about the team’s image he was… adamant. “I think we play soft. We play silly. We don’t play good basketball and let the opponent scare us. Green initially said, adding: “It’s difficult to win when playing with fear. That’s the point now.”
The former All-Star forward even continued in the same vein, saying: “In order to win you have to follow the system, which requires a certain amount of tenacity. And we don’t. And that has nothing to do with Carrie’s absence. He doesn’t bring this hardness into play and he shouldn’t either. It’s not his job.”
Finally, Green became even more aggressive and gave the signal for the next day: “I don’t mean to be disrespectful to Magic, but they are one of the worst teams in the NBA. And we didn’t get along with them. If you don’t get along well with them, you certainly can’t against a great team.
I don’t care who I play with. You can just go to the park and lose. But you can’t be afraid. And that’s exactly what we are now.”
