The decision to lift vaccinations for athletes is expected to be announced by the Mayor of New York in the coming days. Irving is ready to play the Hornets in the Nets’ home game.

Finally, the requirement for athletes to get vaccinated to compete in New York will be imposed by Mayor Eric Adams, who will lift the ban, according to ESPN. His decision brings a smile to the MLB teams (the baseball league that starts in the first days of April), but also to the NBA, which will now have all its players available.

Of course, this will benefit the Brooklyn Nets, who will have the unvaccinated Kairi Irving, who has only played away so far, once this suspension is lifted. According to ESPN, players in these two leagues (NBA and MLB) may be allowed to play in home games starting in the first days of April.

Recently, Kevin Durand, who called the situation “ridiculous,” opened fire against this ban and City Hall’s delay in lifting the requirement for athletes to be vaccinated, while many NBA folks still wanted to see Kyrie Irving fight at the Nets’ home games.

According to Sams Sarania of Athletic, Irving will play with the Hornets to a New York crowd in the early hours of Monday morning.
