Clay Thompson returns 950 days later
The opposite is true for Clay Thompson, who is expected to face the Cavaliers in the Warriors game for the first time in 950 days on Sunday evening.
The plan was to play either the dawn of January 10 against the Cavaliers or the dawn of January 19 against the Pistons. Clay Thompson wanted his return to the ground to be in front of the Warriors crowd, and now if there is no setback in his next training sessions, he will do so on Sunday night, early in the morning next Monday, in the game against Cleveland.
Thompson, who in 615 regular game 19.5 points (41.9% on 3-pointers, 84.8% on shots), 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and one steal per 33.1 minutes of play, has gone from a knee and Achilles tendon surgery is recovering and looking forward to it in San Francisco. Steve Kerr does not intend to give him the substitute role, he will throw him in depth immediately, he will put him next to Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Dreymond Green, Kevin Looney and he will hope that with him the Warriors will win the championship again.
Thompson last competed against the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals on June 14, 2019. By the time he gets back on the ground, he will be out of action for 950 days, a huge time in which he has made more money than his eight years in the NBA as an active member of the Warriors.
