Jason Tatum had 34 points to help the Boston Celtics beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 134-112 for their sixth straight win Sunday.
The Celtics have won 24 of their last 28 games on the eve of the Raptors in Toronto.
Jalen Brown added 31 points and 10 rebounds to a team that has been on fire lately. Minnesota is 12-5 from the All-Star Game break.
Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 24 and 19 points respectively for the Ti-Wolves, who were embarking on a four-game road.
The Celtics scored 13 of the first 15 points in the second half and never fell again. They were ahead 72-49 at halftime.
Suns close to the team record
The Phoenix Suns also extended their winning streak with a 114-104 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Devin Booker scored 35 points in his team’s eighth consecutive victory. Chris Paul added 19 points and 14 assists.
This duel pitted two big teams. The Suns are comfortably ahead in the West, with the best league record, while the Sixers are battling Milwaukee, Boston and Miami at the top in the East.
The Suns have a score of 61-14 and just one victory away from equaling the record of the regular season of the tournament.
The Sixers suffered a first defeat in four outings despite a strong performance of 37 points and 15 rebounds by Joel Ebid.
