Incredible things in San Antonio with the arrival of Victor Webanyama after he was received with honors of the head of state (!) via a live channel, hundreds of fans greeted him and dozens of cars with police and patrol cars accompanied him .
Victor Webanyama certainly knew the Spurs organization expected a lot from him when they named him the NBA’s No. 1 pick. As aware and optimistic as he was, he certainly did not anticipate what was about to happen upon his arrival in San Antonio, given that he was received with the honors of a Head of State!
Webanyama first saw fire engines extinguish the charter ship with him, an action usually reserved for… heads of state and champions.
He then stepped off the plane to find hundreds of Spurs friends waiting for him, including shouting ‘Web VP!’ while someone held a placard urging the young striker to marry his daughter!
All this in fact in a live broadcast, as one of the San Antonio channels LIVE showed the Frenchman’s arrival.
And because all that wasn’t enough, when he got into the car that was transporting him, there was a regular motorcade complete with squad cars and dozens of police cars escorting him to safety on Spurs grounds.
