In one night to honor his glorious past with Toronto, Kyle Lowry had 16 points to help the Miami Heat win 114-109 over the Raptors on Sunday.
Lowry also had 10 assists, helping the top club in the East to a fourth consecutive victory.
Max Strauss contributed 23 points, including a three-pointer seven to nine.
The Heat reserves (51-28) had 45 points, of which 21 for Victor Olandipo and 18 for Tyler Hero.
Once the score was 93-93, the guests took control with 10 points, resulting mainly from four long shots from Strauss and Olandipo.
Pascal Shiakam and Fred Van Wlit had 29 points each for the Raptors (45-33), who had won their last five games.
Miami did well without top scorer Jimmy Butler, who injured his left big toe.
Dewayne Dedmon (right ankle), PJ Tucker (left knee) and Gabe Vincent (right big toe) were also missing.
Chris Quinn led the Heat. Erik Spoelstra is out of action due to NBA pandemic protocols.
Toronto ranks sixth in the East.
OG Anunoby was ruled out with a hamstring injury in the back of his left thigh.
Malachi Flynn was available after 14 minutes. He was injured in the back of his left thigh.
Shortly after being honored on the giant screen, Lowry scored the first three points through free throws.
The video tribute was followed by a warm applause from the audience.
Lowry attended the seated tribute with his young sons, Carter and Cameron. He was then escorted to the midfield where Lowry thanked the fans, obviously excited.
