The Toronto Raptors returned from the 24-point deficit to beat the Houston Rockets 117-115 on Friday night at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

After a comeback started as they were 24 points behind in the second half, Toronto went into the fourth quarter with ten points remaining before dominating at the end of the game with 32-20 thanks especially to the nine points in the fourth quarter of Gary Trent Jr. Trent finished the night with 26 points, three less than Pascal Shiakam. ” Spicy P. added 12 rebounds for his team’s only double.

Scotty Barnes with 16 points and Thaddeus Young with 14 also did well for the Raptors.

“We got the result we wanted, but it was a difficult game,” said Raptors coach Nick Nurse.

As for the Rockets, Kevin Porter Jr. closed the night with the other double of the game thanks to 35 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Christopher had 20 points. It is the third consecutive victory for the Torotonians and the eighth in their last nine games.

The Raptors were slow to start, losing even 24 points. They missed 10 shots in a row late in the first frame.

After three ten minutes, Houston was in control 95-85.

A three-pointer by Trent equalized 105-105 and then the Raptors ended up having the upper hand.

A sweeping shot from Porter created the deadlock 115-115, with 29 seconds to go. Barnes calmly led the next occupation. He ended up handing it over to Trent, who cut it in the basket for a six-foot pass.

There were then 4.8 seconds left. Houston had one last chance, through Alperen Shengun, but their close shot was short.

With Toronto confident of finishing in the top-6 in the East, Fred VanVleet took a break for the second consecutive game after recent problems in his right knee.

OG Anunoby lost his fourth consecutive bout as a result of a bruise on the back of his right thigh.

The victory also brings the Chicago Bulls to fifth place with two wins ahead of the Eastern Conference. The Raptors will complete the regular season on Sunday night in New York against the Knicks.
