The outgoing mayor of Seattle announces supersonic return to the NBA
Amazing news for NBA fans as the outgoing Seattle Mayor announced the return of the city and the Supersonic to the NBA.
Rumors of an NBA expansion into one or possibly two other cities have been circulating for several years. Las Vegas is one of the cities keen to get on the United States basketball map, but people want to see Seattle again, they want to see the Supersonic again, and it seems like it’s only a matter of time is until the time that happens.
The outgoing Mayoress Jenny Durkan said when she said goodbye to her staff that “we’ve built a great new arena for the Kraken (hockey team), the Storm (WNBA team) and soon the Sonic“Which quickly made this conversation the talk of the town and delighted many … former NBA fans who grew up with Gary Payton, Sean Kemp and Detlev Srebf.
The fact is that Commissioner Adam Silver is in constant touch to expand the league to a team or two, there is already a group of investors in both Las Vegas and Seattle looking to lead that effort and it is believed that there will be a redistribution of organizations in the east and west regions when these two cities are integrated into the daily life of the league.
