With Kyrie Irving sitting out the game at the last minute, Doncic went back in time for one game when he was in charge of the Mavericks’ entire offense in terms of design and execution. The injured Grizzlies had no answer as the Slovenian superstar managed to score in six different ways, according to Hudl Instat.

Of course, even more impressive in Doncic’s case is the fact that his 12 assists earned his team an additional 31 points – and a sign of the Mavericks’ confidence in him. In total, the Slovenian was responsible for 66 of the Mavs’ 125 points, which corresponds to 52.5% of his team’s points. The favorite was now Derrick Jones, who scored 10 of his 22 points thanks to passes to the Slovenian.

Doncic has started the season well and looks ready to inspire the Mavericks. There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not the Mavs can accomplish anything this year, as they don’t have another player behind Doncic and Irving who has a proven track record of contributing offensively, while the team’s defense is… suspicious.

What everyone admits, however, is that the class of both is enough to make the Mavs dangerous. And when Doncic plays like that, the Mavericks are very dangerous.
