A scary injury for Plumlee, he fears he has hurt his knee
The Clippers are on fire after Mason Plumlee injured his knee when Julius Randle ran into his leg and left the game against the Knicks, with LA fearing the veteran center will be out for an extended period of time.
The Clippers lost to the Knicks (111-97) in James Harden’s New York debut, but that was the lesser evil. The reason; Mason Plumlee left the game early in a scary moment due to a knee injury.
The game took place in the 3rd quarter when Julius Randle dived to catch the ball after a missed 3-point attempt. However, Plumlee also moved toward the ball, with the Knicks forward falling on the left leg of the Clippers center, who was hyperextended.
Plumlee writhed in pain and was on the field for long periods of time until he was eventually carried off the field by physical therapists because he couldn’t put weight on his leg.
The extent of the injury is unknown at this time as the Clippers still fear they will lose their backup center for an extended period of time.
