Luka Doncic led the Mavericks to points, rebounds and assists and led Dallas to a 102-77 victory in the 5th game of the First Round series against the Utah Jazz. Dallas leads the series 3-2 and can eliminate Utah on Thursday.
The Mavs took a 24-18 lead after a quarter and never looked back on the road to a convincing 25-point win after losing Game 4 by a small margin, despite returning the team star. Jalen Branson was Dallas’ second top scorer with 24 points.
The Jazz night was difficult with only 37.7% of successful shots, including a mediocre success rate of 10.0% behind the three-point arc. Like the team, Bojan Bogdanovich was miserable without a basket despite 14 attempts. Only Royce O’Neale, Danuel House Jr. and Juancho Hernangomez scored three points. Jordan Clarkson with 20 points and Rudy Gombert with 17 points and 11 rebounds were the only productive players for the Jazz. Donovan Mitchell converted four of his 15 shots through the bow and none from downtown in seven attempts.
The Mavericks will be able to finish the Jazz season on Thursday at 10pm, when the two teams will face Salt Lake City.
