Filip Petrusev made his debut with the Sacramento Kings with a heavy heart.
A few days after the trade that sent him from the Sixers to the Kings, Filip Petrusev finally made his debut with the Sacramento team. It just wasn’t the debut he was hoping for, as Mike Brown threw him to the Staples Center floor for the final 11.6 seconds of the Lakers game. In those 11.6 seconds, the home team did not attack, the big Serb came clumsy, laughing, took eight small steps and went into the locker room, where he probably didn’t even take a shower because he just wasn’t sweating.
Petrusev’s contract is not guaranteed. He has $559,782 guaranteed and hopes to make the Kings’ roster on January 10 to fully guarantee the deal through the end of the season and deposit $1,119,563 into his bank account. However, Logic says that sooner or later they will release him in Sacramento to look for something else, as Domantas Sabonis, JaVale McGee and Alex Lane are the focal points there, while Trey Lyles can also help there in slightly shorter forms.
