Kerr on Green’s headlock against Gobber: “He overdid it, it’s unjustified”
Draymond Green crossed the finish line with his headlock on Rudy Gober during the Warriors’ game against the Wolves, and Steve Kerr made it clear with his comments about his player.
Draymond Green was suspended five games by the NBA for his headlock on Rudy Gober, which will cost his team. For this very reason, Steve Kerr was tough but fair when asked to comment on the incident.
“He overdid it. Draymond was wrong. He knows that. It’s a bad picture and the five players is a punishment he deserves. I have no problem with Green trying to take Rudy (Gober) away from Klay (Thompson). but he had to let him go. He held it for 6-7 seconds. It was a bad image for the league, for Draymond and for everyone. Draymond has to find a way not to go too far. I’m not talking about a layup or a technical penalty. I’m talking about an act of physical violence. This is unjustified.
We need to do everything we can to give him the help he needs to know the difference between being an incredible competitor and not crossing that line. He definitely made it through the other night. the Warriors coach suggested.
