The 29-year-old Montreal has positively evaluated his fourth season with the Raptors, especially since he was able to offer a more important defensive performance in 2022.

“It was one of my best seasons. I think I have found talents that I did not see in myself before. My defensive game, my energy, affects the game. It took me a while to figure out who I was as a player. It is encouraging to know that I can help in all aspects as I gain experience. »

Eligible as a freelancer, as his contract expires in a few weeks, Bauser did not want to get too involved in what the future holds.

“I do not think I can discuss it at the moment. I definitely had a good season and I’m fine here where I am right now. But there are many options at once. However, I definitely feel at home in Toronto. You never know what might happen. (…) When you have a player who knows the system well like me, it is certain that by his side, he would definitely want to keep me. »

Finally, Boucher was very fond of one of the jewels of the formation, the young Scottie Barnes, who was recently named the NBA rookie.

“Scotty, he’s special. He is tall, strong and can pass the ball in addition to shooting. He is very reliable even in defense, and that, you do not find every year from a player of this age.
