Abdul-Jabbar, 76, is a fixture in NBA circles, having recorded the second-most points in league history. He has had to deal with some medical issues throughout his life, having been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020 and chronic myeloid leukemia in 2008.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, hospitalized: What happened and how is he doing?
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar suffered a fractured hip on Friday night, December 15, 2023.
It is not entirely clear who was performing or where the performance was taking place. However, it is known that Abdul-Jabbar accidentally fell and hit his hip, his rep Deborah Morales revealed to TMZ.
Paramedics immediately treated Abdul-Jabbar’s injury and transported him to UCLA Hospital from the scene.
Abdul-Jabbar’s condition was not released. However, Morales said the legend was “Deeply grateful” for the support he received from the Los Angeles Fire Department and the “Amazing medical team and doctors at UCLA Hospital.”
