Chance Comanche charged with kidnapping and murder, body of 23-year-old doctor found
Chance Comanci has been charged with the murder of a 23-year-old doctor, Las Vegas police said. Her body was found in Henderson, Nevada.
In an announcement at midnight Sunday, Las Vegas police said Charles Comanci and his 19-year-old partner have been charged with the kidnapping and murder of the 23-year-old Washington, D.C. doctor, who has been missing since Dec. 5.
Comanchi and his partner Sakari Harden met Marena Rogers on the night of December 5th, and two days later the ill-fated medical firm reported her missing. On December 15, the 27-year-old basketball player, who was released by the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, was arrested by the FBI and Las Vegas police and is being held at the Sacramento Central Jail.
Authorities had enough evidence to determine that Comanche and Harden were responsible for the disappearance of Rogers, whose body they eventually found in the Nevada desert and specifically in the area of Henderson, a suburb about 15 to 20 minutes from the center of Las Vegas Vegas away, found. The two are accused of kidnapping and murder. The trial is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19th at 3:00 pm WT.
Comanche played at Arizona State University from 2015 to 2017, went undrafted and played alternately for the Grizzlies and Cavaliers affiliates, in Turkey with Mamak Belediyesi (third division team), had a short stint with the Portland Trail Blazers and only played a game in their jersey (7 points, 3 rebounds in 21 minutes).
