Giannis Antetokounmpo filled the floor with blood but wouldn’t leave the game
A cut on his right hand covered the Fiserv Forum floor in blood, and Giannis Antetokounmpo refused to leave the game against the Rockets but was forced to do so.
There were still 9:40 minutes left in the Bucks-Rockets final when Giannis Antetokounmpo claimed the offensive rebound after his own miss and Jeff Green held on to his right hand. The Greek Freak was bleeding, he tried to explain to the referees that he was fouled and in the attempt and in recovering the ball he filled the floor with blood and while he received first aid from the staff of the Milwaukee team, his wound did not close .
Antetokounmpo wanted to stay in the game, but referee Bill Kennedy saw drops of blood on various parts of the floor. Giannis went to the logo in the middle of the field, he tried to clean it with his shoe and while the camera continued to show the bleeding, he continued to refuse to leave the game. But he had to do it because the problem was big, of course not so big that more than just on-site support was required.
