The suffering continues for Ben Simmons, who is out for another two weeks
Ben Simmons continues to carry his own cross as the Nets announce that the Australian guard/forward will be sidelined for another two weeks due to lower back issues he has been experiencing since November 6th.
What started as simple lower back problems has turned into a familiar situation for Ben Simmons: a week-long absence from the pitch after the Australian finally suffered a nerve problem in his lower back that is expected to keep him out of action for at least a week two weeks. What is noteworthy is that he has been competing since November 6th.
Simmons said over the summer that he felt healthy after back surgery and was ready to get back to playing at the highest level. However, his body only lasted six games before giving it up again, and the Nets were still waiting for his return to action.
This season, Simmons is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists in 32 minutes of play and is playing predominantly at the forward position as it is clear that he is no longer at the level to compete as a point guard .
