Embiid smashes Raptors, Rockets destroy “half” Mavericks
With Joel Embiid stopping at 31 points and missing a triple-double by one assist, the Sixers beat the Raptors 121-111. The Rockets destroyed the – without Doncic, Irving – Mavericks, the Heat bowed the Hawks.
Joel Embiid shocked everyone when he twisted his ankle early in the game against the Raptors. That didn’t prove to be a problem, as the powerful center took the Sixers by the hand and led them to a 121-111 victory over Toronto.
Embiid was unstoppable and finished the game with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, his 13th straight game with +30 points and +10 rebounds. What’s even more impressive is that he was only the team’s third scorer after Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris with 33 points each.
For the Raptors, Pascal Siakam had 31 points, Jakob Peltl 19 points and Gary Trent 17 points.
THE DODECALEPTA: 28-37, 61-58, 93-89, 121-111
Heat – Hawks 122-113
The Heat took on the Hawks without Jimmy Butler and… saw it all for a while. Turns out all they had to do was…get Duncan Robinson to set a team record to earn the 122-113 win.
The veteran forward finished the 4th quarter with 21 of his 27 points (a record for points in a 12-minute period in Heat history, tying his own since 2019) to defeat Miami. He was the ideal supporter of the terrible Tyler Hiro (30 points), while Jaime Yaquez (19 points) and Bam Adebayo (18 points, 11 rebounds) did the rest.
For the Hawks, Trae Young had 30 points and 13 assists, with Dejude Murray contributing 24 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic 23 points.
THE DODECALEPTA: 33-26, 62-60, 88-86, 122-113
Rockets – Mavericks 122-96
The Rockets found the Mavericks without Doncic and Irving. That was all they needed to gain the upper hand early in the game, even reaching +38 and ultimately claiming the victory 122-96.
Alperen Sengun led the winners with 22 points and 15 rebounds, ahead of Jabari Smith with 21 points and Jaylen Green with 17 points (but 5/14 shooting).
For the Mavericks, Olivier Maxis-Prosper had 20 points and Tim Hardaway and Rhyshon Holmes each had 16 points.
THE DODECALEPTA: 23-17, 56-39, 89-60, 122-96
