The NBA Cup finals took place on the night of December 16-17, where New York beat San Antonio.

The first quarter was even and tense, with the teams taking the lead four times, but thanks to Jones’ three-pointer and Fox’s free throws, Spurs won the game 30:28 into the game. They then controlled the course of the game, leading by a few points and even increasing the advantage to 11 points in the third quarter, 92:81. But after that, the Knicks were able to mount a comeback. At the intersection of the third and fourth 12 minutes, they made a 16:2 move and took a 97:94 lead. Afterwards, New York controlled the game and made a 7:0 move at the end of the match, increasing the advantage to 12 points and winning with a score of 124:113.

This was the Knicks’ first trophy since winning the NBA title in 1973.

New York also became the third winner of the in-season tournament in history. The Lakers and Milwaukee had previously won the tournament.

By winning the finals, each player on a standard contract was awarded an additional bonus of $318,560. They won $530,933, including prize money for reaching the finals.
