NBA: LeBron didn’t let Phoenix make a comeback, Golden State lost again
Eight games were played in the NBA regular season on the night of December 14-15.
“Phoenix” and “Lakers” went head to head and played an even game after being eliminated from the NBA Cup.
The Lakers started the game better and were +7 at the end of the first quarter, but allowed their opponent to come back and take the lead before it was over. The Suns then took the lead, but before a long break the opponent came back and the teams went to it, tying the score at 62:62. Although Phoenix started the third quarter better, it was ahead for a long time, but could not score a single point in the last 5 minutes and started the fourth 0:11, losing 2:19. This 30-2 spurt gave the Lakers a 20-point lead, but the Suns did not give up and responded with a 35-11 run to take a 114-13 lead with 13 seconds left in the quarter. However, Phoenix could not maintain the victory – LeBron James made 2 free throws with 3 seconds left and they were decisive in the match – 116:114.
LeBron scored 26 points and Dončić was the Lakers’ most productive player with 29 points.
Portland hosted Golden State and won in an even match.
Throughout the match, the teams outperformed each other by more than 11 points and the lead changed 21 times. In the end everything was decided in the clutch, where the key point was Grant’s finish that put the Trail Blazers ahead, they then increased the advantage thanks to converted free throws and won 136:131.
Even Curry’s 48 points did not help Golden State win, as he could not get enough support from his teammates. Portland’s leading scorers were Grant and Sharp, who each scored 35 points.
