More than 500 members of the NBA’s coaching and technical staff have joined the protocol
NBA team players and coaches are people constantly facing coronavirus cases, but another issue is just as important: More than 500 members of the team’s coaching and technical staff joined the coronavirus protocol last month.
The NBA is trying to withstand the spread of the coronavirus in the league. But while everyone stands by the players – 300+ – but also the coaches who entered the health and safety protocol, the issue runs deeper. And it creates huge problems for the teams.
According to ESPN, more than 500 of the teams’ training and technical staff are estimated to have joined the health and safety protocol in the last month. This applies to coaches, video analysts, assistant coaches, scouts, team medical staff, coaches and team security personnel. In general, almost everyone who does something that does not appear to be important to the operation of an organization works.
According to what some general managers told ESPN, the specific absences have reached their limit…some teams, as many people are forced to do far more things than they should and can. And unlike players who can be replaced by G-League players, these guys can’t be covered by… ten-day contracts.
What comes next remains to be seen as all teams are living in unprecedented situations. In every level.
