Clay Thompson took another step forward in his development after breaking 20 points for the first time against the Pistons on his return to the floor.

Slowly but surely, Clay Thompson is taking the steps necessary to gradually become the player he was before his two serious injuries. He took the next step – to the next – in the Warriors’ win over the Pistons (102-86).

In the 5th game after returning to the floor – and second in his team’s home game – Thompson broke the 20 point mark for the first time. Specifically, he had 21 points with 3/5 two points, 3/8 three points, 6/6 shots, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in 22 minutes of participation in his best performance to date.

Thompson has double-digit scoring in all 5 games he’s played so far, averaging 15.2 points, 3 rebounds and 2.2 assists with 36.1% on three-pointers (2.6/7.2 per game) in only 21 minutes. But it was this performance that showed that it is now finding rhythm.

I had a great time, I wish I had filmed more but I had a great time. said in a statement, adding: “I don’t care if I lose 100 shots in a row, I won’t stop shooting. “I love basketball very much and have worked very hard not to shoot.”
