Mark Gasol for Barcelona and “I’m not ruling anything out”
Mark Gasol spoke about the possibility of playing again in Barcelona or the NBA in an interview on Catalan radio, explaining that he doesn’t rule anything out and that he has to find his playing form first.
Mark Gasol spoke to Catalan radio station Rac1 about his plans as a player and the possibility of playing for Barcelona or the NBA before retiring. The veteran center spoke, among other things, about Girona, where he played after many years, and admitted he does not yet know if this will be the last stop in his long career.
“I’m in a critical phase, I’m taking four steps forward and one step back. With patience. The whole thing is not finished yet, I still have a few steps to go, no question. I don’t want to rule anything out.” I need to find myself first, when I get to that point we’ll see, I’m not there yet but I appreciate everything I do.
I don’t know if Girona will be my last stop. We’ll see what my head and body will say and how my choices will affect others around me.
I always try to be Girona’s leader and always keep in touch with the club. But surely one day someone will want it more than me and I will be fine with that. I understand the direction the club is going and gives confidence to the world. There has to be good communication and guidance first and then the others follow.”
