Not Carrie, not Coby, not Jordan, not Harden, not Durand. Joel Ebid is averaging 1.32 points per minute over his last four games, a feat surpassed only by Wilt Chamberlain.

What Joel Ebid has been up to for the last few weeks is taken from a video game. The Sixers center plays the best basketball of his career, is in the debate for the regular-season Most Valuable Player award, and seems poised to contend with Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokoumbo for that award, the closest to the end, being good.

Right now, the 28-year-old boasts a performance the NBA has only seen once in seven decades, a performance that is the second-best in league history since the 1951-52 season when attack time came into play. In his last four games, Ebid has 42.5 points (58% on shots overall, 85% on shots), 12.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.3 blocks per 32.1 minutes of play, with 170 points in 128 Minutes against Magic, Clippers, The Spurs and the Pelicans send him against Wilt Chamberlain.

Put simply, Ebid is clocking up 1.32 points per minute, a feat previously surpassed only by the legendary Warriors, Sixers and Lakers center. Nobody was more productive in points per minute in a four-game streak. Not Coby Bryant, not Steve Carey, not Kevin Durant, not James Harden, anyone. Overall, the Sixers player has 29 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1 steal and 1.4 blocks per 32.8 minutes in 36 games this season.
