Mavericks gel in Orlando despite Doncic’s triple-double
Luka Doncic did…everything, but it wasn’t enough for the Mavericks in Orlando, as the Magic caused the upset and clinched the win 110-108 over leader Tsuma Okeke.
The Mavericks went to Orlando with back-to-back wins but without Christaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway. Those absences proved crucial for Dallas, where Orlando pulled the upset and clinched the win, 110-108.
The Mavs eventually had a shot at the win, but Max Kleber’s three-pointer found no target after a pass from Luka Doncic, Reggie Bullock then missed a three-pointer.
Tsuma Okeke was the Magic’s lead by 19 points, coming back from -11 in the first half and making an early derby play, with Franz Wagner adding 18 points and Cole Anthony adding 16 (but shooting 6/16).
For the Mavericks, Doncic was shocking with 34 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists but didn’t have enough help as Jalen Branson added 15 points and Markis Chris added 14 points.
