The Spanish basketball team announced to the list of players that he will be part of the preparation for the basketball euro 2022, which will be held from 1 to 18 September in Georgia (where Spain will play the group stage), the Czech Republic, Italy and Germany (where the final stage will be held).
Coach Sergio Scariolo assembled a young enough squad to at least aim to repeat the European podium achieved at the last edition of the tournament held in 2017. The place of naturalization was for American point guard Lorenzo Brownwhile no players from Barcelona are mentioned and there are two youngsters who have just won Eurobasket U20: John Nunezfrom Real Madrid, and Hector Alderetefrom Movistar Students.
The Presence in the NBA of the group mark it Usman Garouba Y brothers Juancho and Willy Hernangomez;two of the referents that remain adjacent Rudy Fernandez and Sergio Llull. These four and Quino Colomb its repeated presence world champions 2019.
The gathering of Spain began August 1 in Madrid and before EurobasketRed will play friendly with Greece (August 9 in Athens and August 11 in Madrid) and Lithuania (August 16 in Gran Canaria and August 18 in Vilnius). They will also play the first two matches of the second qualifying phase for the 2023 World Cup, against Iceland as a native (in Pamplona, on August 24) and v Netherlands as a guest (August 27).

Sergio Scariolo’s expulsions for Eurobasket
Díaz, Barreiro, Salvó and Alderete, first rejections
Shortly before the national team traveled to Athens for the first friendly against Greece, Sergio Scariolo announced the first victims of the gathering: Alberto Díaz, Jonathan Barreiro, Miquel Salvó and Hector Alderete.
The Italian coach thanked them for their commitment and work in the first days of training:
“They are players who have done a great job. Barreiro and Salvo have already established themselves in the National team and continue to work and Alberto Diaz, who was not very well physically, has been there several times and will be more often. For his part, Héctor Alderete has shown us that he can develop and we hope that he will find space to continue to grow in experience.”

Spain will play it Group A inext to Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Montenegro (replaces Russia, expelled) and Turkey. The four best of this group will advance to the round of 16.
