The Copa do Brasil 2026 has reached the quarterfinal stage, with eight teams competing for the title. This year the knockout tournament introduces a new format for its final.
The championship decider will be played as a single match rather than a two-legged tie. The final is scheduled for December 6, though a venue has not yet been confirmed.
The new format resembles the one used in competitions organized by Conmebol. Previously, Copa do Brasil finals were decided over home-and-away legs at each finalist's stadium.
Quarterfinal matchups
This year's Copa do Brasil expanded its number of participants, starting with 126 clubs. That figure will rise to 128 in 2027.
The first-leg quarterfinal matches pit Internacional against Gremio, Cruzeiro against Atletico-MG, Vasco against Vitoria, and Palmeiras against Santos, with return legs following in reverse order.
