Details of the wedding emerged after Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias published a copy of the couple's marriage certificate. The document confirmed that the couple married in front of their children and just four witnesses, with Cristiano Ronaldo's family absent from the ceremony.
Cristiano Ronaldo's mother Dolores Aveiro and his three siblings, Hugo, Elma, and Katia, were not present for the civil service. Dolores Aveiro gave the marriage her blessing shortly afterwards by posting a heart emoticon on her son's Instagram page following the wedding announcement.

Registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira travelled from the northern Portuguese city of Porto to Cascais to officiate the ceremony. The four recorded witnesses were Georgina Rodriguez's sister Ivana, Cristiano Ronaldo's long-time friend Miguel Paixao, and a Spanish couple named as Jose Rodriguez Sangil and his wife Monica Goncalez Martinez. Jose Rodriguez Sangil was identified by Portuguese media as a Spanish jeweller.
The confirmation follows earlier false speculation that the couple were due to marry on Saturday at Funchal Cathedral on Madeira, the island where Cristiano Ronaldo was born. Representatives for the footballer confirmed earlier this week that the couple wed in Cascais after they shared photos of their wedding rings on social media.
Prenuptial agreement and marriage registry
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez signed a prenuptial agreement on August 10, the day before the wedding, at a public notary office in Lisbon. The agreement defines their property regime and keeps their pre-marriage assets separate. Both will retain their pre-marriage names.
The marriage certificate was recorded as number 1,493 of this year and listed at the Registry Office in Porto instead of Cascais, the municipality where the ceremony took place. The document details Cristiano Ronaldo's full name, his age of 41, his birthplace in Madeira, and the names of his parents, including his late father Jose Dinis.
The certificate lists identical details for 32-year-old Georgina Rodriguez under her full name of Georgina Luisa Rodriguez Hernandez, noting her birthplace in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires. The wedding was held at their mansion in the upmarket residential area of Quinta da Marina, a built-from-scratch property featuring an infinity pool, an underground car park, and a private cinema room.
The couple have since returned to Saudi Arabia, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays club football for Al Nassr ahead of the new season start tomorrow. He was pictured wearing his wedding ring upon returning to team training.
