After a good performance last weekend in Panevézys (Lithuania), Lauriane Genest experienced her share of difficulties during the third round of the Champions League presented on Friday in London, United Kingdom.

First of all, in the keirin, the Lévisienne saw her career come to an end after being involved in a fall with the leader in the women’s provisional classification, the German Emma Hinze.

The two cyclists were able to continue the competition, however, so that Hinze was crowned in the sprint just an hour later. Genest was eliminated in the first round.

Among the men, Hugo Barrette could not do better than his compatriot. The Madelinot suffered a hasty elimination in the sprint against his Russian rival Denis Dmitriev, who had also shown him the way out in Panevézys. Barrette was also eliminated in the first round of the keirin.

After three stages of the Champions League, Lauriane Genest ranks 9th among women, while Hugo Barrette is in 12th place on the men’s side.

Emma Hinze and the Dutchman Harrie Lavreysen are enthroned at the top of the provisional rankings.
