Hugo Houle finishes 24th

(Montluçon) Belgian Wout van Aert won the fourth stage of the Paris-Nice cycling event on Wednesday, linking Domérat to Montluçon over 13.4 km.

Van Aert, from the Jumbo-Visma team, completed the distance in 16 minutes and 20 seconds. His teammates Primoz Roglic, reigning Olympic time trial champion, and Rohan Dennis completed the podium, in order.

Hugo Houle, of Sainte-Perpétue, ended up on 24and rung 48 seconds from van Aert. His teammate at Israel-Premier Tech, Montrealer James Piccoli, followed at 138and rank.

Van Aert dominates the general classification of the competition, with a cushion of 10 seconds in front of Roglic and 28 seconds on the Frenchman Christophe Laporte (Jumbo-Visma). Houle and Piccoli are 20and and 29andrespectively.

The fifth stage will take place over 189 km on Thursday between Saint-Just-Saint-Rambert and Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut.

The Paris-Nice cycling race, which totals eight stages, will end on Sunday in Nice.
