New Zealander Patrick Bevin (Israel Premier Tech) won the Tour of Turkey cycling race on Sunday, at the end of the 8th and final stage, which was definitively interrupted by the organizers due to weather conditions.

The 8th stage offered a 136 km loop starting and finishing in Istanbul.

“Stage 8 was stopped due to weather conditions” which made the road too slippery, the organization of the Tour of Turkey said on its Twitter account.

“It started to rain after the start and there were crashes. After km 25, the runners asked for the neutralization of the race, ”says the message.

In the general classification, Bevin, winner of the 7th stage on Saturday, is therefore ahead of the Australian Jay Vine (Alpecin-Fenix) by 20 seconds and the Argentinian Eduardo Sepulveda (Androni-Giocatolli) by 40 seconds.

The New Zealander, specialist in time trials, signs at 31 the most significant success of his career.

2. Jay Vine (AUS/ALP) at 20.
