Peter Fury: ‘Joshua gave his best in second Usyk fight’
Peter AngerWhy WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) uncle and former coach Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) failed to beat WBA, WBO and IBF title heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk explained. (20-0, 13 KOs).
“Joshua didn’t do anything he was supposed to do. That’s why I chose Usyk. I wanted to see what Joshua was. Look, we can all sit back and look at this fight. Usyk is an elite fighter. Joshua did everything he could but failed. So what? He’ll come back, fight once more, and get well. This is not the end of the world.
Maximum credit should be given to him for accepting these fights. This is what we should all do. I think it’s just a matter of time before the titles are somehow combined, Fury said in an interview with YouTube channel iD Boxing.
Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua by split decision on August 20 and retained the belts.
