VIDEO. Usyk attended a charity basketball game

In early March, as a result of the bombing of the capital’s TV tower, the Avangard gymnasium, a center for the development of children’s basketball in Kiev and just a legendary site, was seriously damaged, more or less seriously everyone who was interested managed to play basketball at least once. Despite the great efforts of the volunteers who cleaned the hall before the fall season began, it is impossible to hide the consequences of a terrible event even six months later.

A charity match was held at Avangard to start the difficult and costly process of renovating the hall. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Gutzeit, world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, former defender of Dynamo and Ukraine national team Vladislav Vashchuk, TV presenter Andriy Bednyakov, stand-up comedian Mark Kutsevalov and others. well known to former basketball players – especially Igor Kharchenko, Dmitry Korablev and Alexander Lokhmanchuk.

The main highlight of the exhibition meeting was Usyk’s participation in it. Previously, one of the greatest boxers of our time had demonstrated his football skills, and this is the first time we’ve seen him with a basketball in his hand.
