The coach of the Akhmat club is glad that Chimaev met with Holland after the failure of the fight with Diaz
American Kevin Holland can be called a promising fighter, it’s good that it was he who became the rival of Khamzat Chimaev at the UFC 279 tournament, said the coach of the Akhmat mixed martial arts club Murad Bichuev.
The fight in Las Vegas ended with Chimaev’s victory in the first round. Initially, the Swedish fighter of Chechen origin was supposed to meet with another American, Nate Diaz, but failed the weigh-in.
– To be honest, I was very pleased that it was Holland who became Chimaev’s opponent at UFC 279. Especially after he saw the confrontation between Diaz and Ferguson. Whatever you say, Nate has aged, no longer in the shape he used to be. Kevin, on the contrary, is a promising young fighter, Bichuev told RT.
Chimaev has 12 victories in 12 fights in mixed martial arts. Holland suffered the eighth loss of his career with 23 wins.
