Organizer: Alvarez Bivol wants his rematch
British organizer Eddie Hearn says a new match between undisputed world super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol is possible.
“We need to see if Bivol can get over Zurdo Ramirez but I think Canelo will always think about whether he can avenge the last defeat. I don’t think Alvarez’s goal is to get back in the 175kg division and win the belt. On the one hand, Zurdo’s Bivol for Mexico. He wants him to beat but also wants Bivol to win for a chance at a rematch.
Don’t rule out Bivol dropping to 168 pounds to fight for the overall title because that’s what he wants too. “We have to wait until November 5 in Abu Dhabi,” Hearn said.
We remember that Alvarez won against Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan last weekend by unanimous decision and retained his titles. After the fight, it became known that Saul was ready to take a break for a year.
In May of this, Bivol won his first fight with Canelo. A rematch clause was written in fighting contracts. On November 5, Dmitry will defend his title in Abu Dhabi, fighting Mexican Gilberto Ramirez.
