Looks like the UFC heavyweight champion will fight Fury
The current holder of the UFC heavyweight title, Francis Ngannou, has admitted that he is ready to fight WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. The fighter said that he agreed to wait for the British until he settled his affairs in boxing.
“My situation is still the same, I haven’t received any offers… I guess no one is in a rush, I’m in no rush either. I’m not going anywhere so I’m in no hurry… [я все еще заинтересован в бое с Тайсоном Фьюри]. But so far, it has all ended with the intervention of boxing,” he said.
Earlier, organizer Bob Arum suggested that Fury and Ngannou could bring in more money from the 2017 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. This fight set a record $4.2 million in PPV sales.
Ngannou won the UFC championship belt by knocking out Stipe Miocic in the second round in March 2021. Francis defended his title by defeating Cyril Gan at UFC 270 in January.
Tyson Fury plans to hold a boxing match with former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, who lost in a rematch with Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk in August.
