Organizer: ‘Fury-Joshua has been cancelled’
Eddie Hearn, promoter of Anthony Joshua, broke the talks as he got into a fight with Tyson Fury:
“Of course people aren’t stupid enough to see that Tyson Fury has set two deadlines for this fight and they’ve passed. People are talking about obstacles, but we’ve signed our final contract. They want to appoint his partner as referee, but that sort of thing just doesn’t work.
We have another deadline, Fury said, “Now we’re telling you there won’t be a fight if you don’t sign it today.” The deadline has passed and I haven’t heard from George Warren since. As far as we know, the fight has been cancelled. We would have loved to continue the discussions, but we did not.”
Earlier, Fury’s promoter had mentioned when there could be a fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
