Ukraine urges IOC to respond to actions of International Boxing Federation
Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit He commented on the decision of the IBA to resume the Russians and Belarusians in the competitions.
“This is dazzling news for all of us, it is not perceived for us and for the whole world, because from the very first day we have been trying not to see Russian and Belarusian athletes at competitions. It is not the first time that I say that in Federations with Russian officials, athletes do everything to return to their performances. And at IBA, the chairman is a Russian (Umar Kremlev – ed.). We understand that they push their athletes to the international arena.
Under the chairmanship of Andriy Yermak, together with Dmitry Kuleba, we wrote a letter to the IOC to respond to the actions of the International Boxing Association. The President of the FBU also wrote a letter to the IBA, our famous boxers called on the world public to prevent this from happening.”
