“Usyk can void titles.” Joyce awaits title challenge
Boxer Joe Joyce, who has become a mandatory contender for the WBO heavyweight belt, is unsure whether Alexander Usyk will stay in boxing for long.
“I would ideally like to fight Usyk. But I think he’s looking at other options now. From fighting Fury to becoming a cruiserweight. If anything, he can always leave his titles blank. I must say that Usyk has been boxing for a very long time, he had hundreds of fights in amateurs.
“He also made very good money for two fights with Joshua. I’m not sure Usyk would want to stay if he didn’t fight Fury. It’s hard to predict though.”
“Fury is always changing his mind, Usyk has a lot of options. We’ll see, but I need championship fights,” Joyce said.
