Lomachenko reveals who stopped her fight with Gervonta Davis
Former world champion in the three weight divisions Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) WBA lightweight champion explains to Gervonte Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) why he couldn’t agree in a fight.
I’d love to see Davis against Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Shakur Stevenson or me. We’ll see, but you know, I remember talking about Davis, about this fight, five or six years ago. But Mayweather said, “Hey, forget it. We have a different weight.”
But what is this other weight class for? For business? Ok, you are a businessman. However, if you want to be the best fighter, you have to fight with the best. Davis is a very good boxer, but he needs to improve.”
Vassily will face off against Jemaine Ortiz on October 29.
Lomachenko had previously explained why he did not turn professional in 2008.
