Lomachenko told why he refused to fight for the title of absolute champion
Former world champion in three weight divisions Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs) explained why he refused to fight George Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs) after the start of the Russian invasion.
“I thought that the fight for the absolute champion title would be my next step, but life changed my plans. On February 24, a war broke out in my country and at that moment I could not leave it. I could not go to fulfill my dream, to achieve my goal because I had a great responsibility to my family and my country.
When the war started, it foiled all the plans of all the people in our country. “At that moment you only think about your future life,” Lomachenko said in the documentary Battle Lines: Lomachenko.
On October 29, Vasily will fight against Jemaine Ortiz.
