Klimas told how Lomachenko refused to fight Kambosos for all belts
Egis Air Conditionershis manager, Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs), talked about how the Ukrainian fighter reacted to the beginning of the Russian invasion and refused to fight George Kambosos (20-2, 10 KOs).
Lomachenko said: “My flight was cancelled, so I’m going to Romania. Then I will cross the border across the river.” I said, “Why don’t we do it differently? Why don’t you come to Romania and we’ll bring your family there?” He asked: “Do you hear what you are talking about? You’re crazy. I’m not going to do that because I’m going home, period.”
I called the organizers and said that he would not be coming to the US. We had to give up this opportunity. I called Vasili and said: “You dreamed of this fight, these are your titles, they belong to you”. He said, “Whatever. I’m staying in Ukraine,” said Klimas in the documentary Battle Lines: Lomachenko.
On October 29, Vasily will fight against Jemaine Ortiz.
