Ortiz successfully had the loudest match of his career so far. On May 21, 2022, Jemaine surpassed former captain of the US boxing team and former world professional champion Jemel Herring. Of course, Herring is no longer the same. During this fight, the American was severely beaten not so long ago by Shakur Stevenson, and the transition to light weight did not work. So much so that after losing ten rounds, Jemel decided to give up boxing altogether.

Ortiz is on the rise. A few months after effectively ending his career as a solid boxer, he is now on the way to the number one fight in his career. Winning will give Jemaine championship chances and great opportunities, and losing won’t come as a shock. It turns out that there is zero risk and, without exaggeration, ten times more dividends can be received.

Understands the level of the opponent and the Ukrainian:

“I’ve played with this guy before, he’s very fit, he’s very technical, he’s fast, he feels the distance. Next opponent? You never know what’s going to happen tomorrow. That’s why I never look ahead. In contrast, Lomachenko is near the end of his career. Each defeat can be the last, the authority is surprising, but everyone understands what kind of talent this athlete is.
