Shot stats: Lomachenko hits less but more accurately
On the night of October 29-30, a boxing night took place in New York, the main event of which was the fight between the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko and the American Jemaine Ortiz.
The fight passed the entire planned distance of 12 rounds, and according to its results, all the judges unanimously counted the victory of the Ukrainians in points (115-113, 116-112, 117-111).
Interestingly, according to Compubox, Lomachenko punched less – 571 vs 607, but was more accurate – 125-122 (22% vs 20%).
At the same time, in terms of strong hits, Ortiz did better both quantitatively and qualitatively – 107/310 (35%) versus Lomachenko’s 92/300 (31%).
