Recently, a titled champion from Kazakhstan, who suffered because of the stubbornness of his coach, got into a similar situation.

“He said everything was fine”

Kazakh boxer Aidos Yerbosynuly, until recently, did not know the bitterness of defeat in the professional ring. The 30-year-old athlete had 16 fights and won all of them. 11 times he won against rivals ahead of schedule. Such a track record allowed him to occupy high positions in the ratings for all major versions. He also held WBA International, WBO Global, WBC Asian championship titles.

In the 17th fight, Aidos received the right to win the main WBA belt. In opponents, he also had an undefeated opponent from Cuba, David Morrel, who was considered the main champion. Although the Cuban had fewer fights in his professional career, he was viewed as a very dangerous opponent. Only one of his seven opponents managed to make it to the end of the final round.

From the very beginning, the duel did not go according to the scenario of Yerbosynuly’s team. The Kazakh boxer lost in all respects on the cards of the judges. The superiority of the Cuban was noticeable to the naked eye. He threw a lot more punches, and they hit the target more often. By the 12th round, Morrel’s advantage had become overwhelming. Assistant coach and second Yerbosynuly Emanuel Savoy was ready to stop the fight at any moment. But the boxer himself and Kanat Orakbaev, who trained him, were against the early stop of the fight. But 40 seconds before the end of the fight, everything was over. The Cuban pressed Aidos to the ropes and sent him into a deep knockout. The referee did not even begin to open the score, he immediately stopped the fight, as he perfectly understood the gravity of the position of the loser.

Emergency hospitalization and coma

Yerbosynuly tried to get up after such a serious shock, but he managed to do it only with the help of the judge, who raised him by the hand. But the referee could not bring Aidos to the corner alone. An opponent came to the rescue, who abruptly interrupted the celebrations in order to help the injured opponent.

They tried to help the Kazakh athlete right in the ring, but he did not get better. As a result, he was rushed to the medical center. Officially, nothing is known about the state of health of the athlete. The hospital declined to comment on the situation. The promotional companies involved in organizing the fight released a statement, but it did not provide any details.
