Fraser Clarke is the new potential starlet of British boxing. The boxer, who went through a tough selection to the British Olympic teams, boxed there with the tops at that time and participated in the Olympics again.

And now he trains with the stars, puts everyone in the pros, and has a good chance of being someone who will make good money for him and his promoters for a few years. On the evening of November 12, Frazier will have his first serious test as a professional, so it’s time to find out who he is.

He met Joyce in amateur boxing and participated in the Olympics. There he defeated Rogava Tsotne and became the laureate

Being a member of the England national team is not easy. The country has a long tradition and a special attitude towards heavyweights. When people like Anthony Joshua, Robert Wells, or even the same Audley Harrison or David Price are boxed in front of you, you need to be on that level.

Therefore, the selection in the England team is top notch. Frazier Clarke has come a long way from not being number one on the national team. From 2010 to 2014, he did not participate in the most important tournaments. For example, he boxed at the Nation Cooperation Tournament in New Delhi (India). Or at the European Union Championships in Bulgaria. Second and third numbers are usually sent to such championships.

In 2014, Clark defeated future Olympic champion Tony Yoka by decision at a tournament in Sofia. However, a few months before that, he lost to the French rival Joseph Joyce in the Olympic final. Frazier could not cope with the pressure of his compatriot, took blows and lost ahead of schedule in the third round by technical knockout.

More important competitions followed. For example, like the European Championships in Kharkov in 2017, Clark finished second and lost to Ukrainian Viktor Vykhrist in the final. Participating in other international tournaments in the same years, Frazier also started to connect with the semi-professional boxing league World Series Boxing. It turned out great there: 8 victories, not a single defeat. At the same time, the Briton won three times and five times ahead of schedule by decision of the judges.

Clark became Joseph Joyce’s successor. In 2019, he was taken to the World Championships, where his medals were somewhat lacking. Just like at the European Games of the same year. But then everything went great.

First, Fraser passed the Olympic selection and participated in the Olympics in 2021. The Briton was definitely not a favorite, but he showed himself perfectly. At the first meeting, Rogava did not give Tsotne a chance. The confrontation was good and close, but still the Briton was better and more accurate.

The second duel against French boxer Murad Aliyev was the loudest duel of the tournament. Even the knockout of favorite Khizhnyak in the final did not touch everyone so much. The fact is that from the first second, Aliyev constantly attacked the opponent with his head. The referee gave a lot of warnings, he scored points but remained on his line.

Murad was disqualified in the second round. He became uncomfortable, sat in a corner and sat there for over an hour in protest. Although you can’t break the rules.

Clark left the tournament with a prize, but not gold. Fraser lost to favorite and future champion Bahodir Jalolov in the semi-finals and won the bronze medal.

He turned pro, signed great contracts and already knocked out three opponents

The British love and know how to make money from boxing. And in heavyweights – especially. Because it’s always fun to watch big guys hit each other.

Thus, Frazier Clark became an important presence for boxing in the country. He immediately signed with Anthony Joshua’s management company, 258 MGT, and made his debut the year after the Olympics. The first was made possible thanks to long-term acquaintances and Olympic medal status. Even before Clark turned pro, he had arguments with Dillian Whyte, Daniel Dubois, and even Joshua himself. The second went well.

Now Frazier has three wins and three by knockout. Jake Darnell ousted Ariel Esteban Bracamonte and Pencho Tsvetkov. First and third in the first round. In the second – in the second.

After beating Tsvetkov, Frazier even apologized to fans. Because he couldn’t box longer and was really worried about it. But the knockout turned out cool – the opponent fell into the ropes after a side kick and that’s it.

However, now the opponent is completely different. Although Poland’s Kamil Sokolovsky has a negative record of 11-26-3, he is not as easy a substitute as it seems. Just to understand, he has only 4 early losses out of the 26 games he lost.

Only Bakhodir Jalolov, Jean Kossobutsky, Dillian Whyte and Nathan Gorman managed to beat Sokolovsky ahead of schedule. For example, not a single Ukrainian upset Kamil, and among the opponents were Viktor Vykhryst, Vladislav Sirenko and Igor Shevadzutsky – frankly punchy guys.

The latter suffered with Sokolovsky in general. Camille is a classic gatekeeper. She knows how to get her opponent, how to work with combos, and get around the ring so she doesn’t look really small she.

So this is the first good competitor and test for Clark. Definitely not for boxing – Frazier will definitely win. But the question is how? Will I have to apologize again for an early victory or maybe Kamil will fight.

Clark is a finished product for the British market. Strong, bright, medalist, famous. He argues with the stars and is ready to change them. The only downside is age. The latest British heavyweight prospects are often quite old. Joyce, 36, Fraser, 31. So there isn’t much time left. So important fights will come sooner. And this is wonderful.
